Everything We Left Behind

Everything We Left Behind (Everything We Keep #2)

Kerry Lonsdale

Book Review: ♥ ♥

*Read Everything We Keep before even looking at this book*

Everything we left behind is Carlos's/James story. At the end of book one, we see Amiee finally letting go of James. Her husband to be who is no more. James is gone, and Carlos has his own life. After many years James emerges from his dissociative fugue to find he is living someone else's life. Everything he left behind is gone, and he is living in Oaxaca with his two boys. Carlos has everything James thought he wanted. He's an artist, living free from the drama of his Donato family, but Amiee is missing from his perfect picture. James doesn't remember living as Carlos, so his loss of his ex is fresh in his mind. He doesn't remember his two sons or his life in a foreign place. James and Carlos are two different people. James now needs to find his own way. Everything is different, but he needs to find his own home in his heart.

I read these two books back to back, and I probably would not recommend this. At least a little space between the books would have been better because it made some of the plot more predictable due to the writing style. I struggled with the rating of this book but came to the decision it fitted perfectly with the first book, therefore, needed the full 5 stars.

James and Carlos are two separate people in the form of one body. The story is told from both of their points of view. Neither are perfect, and both have their issues. I enjoyed this story. I would say this is the sadder novel of the two but has a happily ever after. James just needs to pull it all together and find the best of both worlds.

5 stars out of 5. *I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for a fair review.*

Everything We Keep

Everything We Keep (Everything We Keep #1)

Book Review: ♥ ♥

Wow! The twists and turns in this book had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. I was invited to read Everything we Keep via Netgalley. Romance novels are my usual read, but I try to avoid sad stories. I'm so glad I gave this one a chance.

Aimee's life is about to fall apart before her very eyes. Her family sold her future job, and her husband to be is going to be buried on her wedding day.

This book is about the future you didn't see coming. I don't want to give anything away so that's all I'm saying.

Fantastic suspense novel with romance and mystery. 5 stars out of 5.
Everything We Keep is a must read!

Book Review:

From the authors of the forbidden series comes a new standalone story. It's fun, it's loveable, and it's dirty.

Luke has been warned off Elise. She's a friend of his friends, and they don't want to see it go pear shaped, but one game of pool couldn't hurt, right?

Elise is moving back home to be close to her family. She has literally moved back in with them but is desperate to find her own space. She meets up with some good friends to catch up, and have a night of fun, but times have changed. Everyone has found their special someone. The only other singleton is Luke. Totally delicious, but also a player from what she remembers.

This is their story. It's sweet, hot, and romance novel which offers something new from R.L Kenderson. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Why I Loathe Sterling Lane ❤ Blog Tour, Giveaway & Review ❤

Why I Loathe Sterling Lane

Per her 537 rules, Harper Campbell keeps her life tidy—academically and socially. But the moment Sterling Lane transfers into her tiny boarding school, her twin brother gets swept up in Sterling’s pranks and schemes and nearly gets expelled. Harper knows it’s Sterling’s fault, and to protect her brother, she vows to take him down. As she exposes his endless school violations, he keeps striking back, framing her for his own infractions. Worst of all, he’s charmed the administration into thinking he’s harmless, and only Harper sees him for the troublemaker he absolutely is.

As she breaks rule after precious rule in her battle of wits against Sterling and tension between them hits a boiling point, she’s horrified to discover that perhaps the two of them aren’t so different. And maybe she doesn't entirely hate him after all. Teaming up with Sterling to save her brother might be the only way to keep from breaking the most important rule—protecting Cole.

Ingrid Paulson does not, in fact, loathe anyone. Although the snarky sense of humor and verbal barbs in Why I Loathe Sterling Lane might suggest otherwise (and shock those who think they know her best).

Ingrid lives in San Francisco with her husband and children and enjoys long-distance running, eavesdropping, and watching science documentaries. She has always loved books and writing short stories, but was surprised one day to discover the story she was working on wasn’t so short any more. Valkyrie Rising, a paranormal girl power story was Ingrid’s first novel. Expect another humorous contemporary romance to join the list soon.

Book Review: ♥ ♥

I knew when I read the title this book was going to be for me. I love a hate relationship. Sterling rubs Harper the wrong way from the second she meets him. I mean who does he think he is!

Harper follows her own rules which include studying, looking after her brother and keeping on target. She keeps her head in books and her mind on her education. That is until Cole her twin brother gets a new dormitory mate. Sterling is a bad influence right from the start, and Harper is happy to put him in his place. This means war! Sterling is too cocky to take Harper's handouts without retaliation.
I love this book. Harper and Sterling are both great characters. Harper is the ultimate geek and Sterling is the perfect enemy. 5 out of 5.

I received an ARC copy of this book as part of the chapter by chapter blog tour. My review is in no way influenced by this fact.
